Living in Cougar Country

Evidence of cougar activity has been noted in the Summer Village of Itaska Beach.  Alberta Fish and Wildlife has been notified.  While sightings are rare, the Pigeon Lake area has a stable population of cougars.

It is very rare for people to hear the sounds cougars make.  They normally vocalize only when they are mating, feeling threatened or communicating with their kittens.
